Alternate Underground Manager - Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced Alternate Underground Manager to join their team for a 4 month contract. In this position you will be in charge of all the operational and planning aspects of the Underground Mine. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 
Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Alternate Underground Manager will have the following responsibilities: 
  • Promote and participate in the development of site safety policies  
  • Fulfill statutory duties of Underground Manager 
  • Direct day-to-day control of underground mining activities 
  • Supervise and manage the underground mining department  
  • Ensure all underground mine plans, schedules and forecasts are kept current 
  • Carry out and direct project work and feasibility studies as required 
  • Compile periodic reports including forecasts, annual budgets and reserve statements 
Requirements: 
  • West Australian First Class Mine Manager's Certificate 
  • Substantial mining experience essential, predominantly underground 
  • Proven track record in safety, production, project management and team building 
  • Competent in Excel, Word and Access 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • FMI qualifications and experience with Vulcan will be beneficial. 
This position is fly in/fly out from Perth on a 8 days on 6 days off roster. Excellent on-site accommodation is provided. Great recreational facilities on site. Telstra mobile access is available.
