About our Client
Small exploration company recently turned producer with a number of exciting projects in a highly prospective region of Western Australia. The business holds assets with a traditional owner-contractor operated mine site in WA, employing a small technical team to manage the production of gold resources. Being a small organisation enables the team to set and drive all of their own standards on site and cultivate strong team relationships and dynamics. Due to the commencement of a new operation in the near future, the company is currently seeking a Senior Mining Engineer/Alternate Manager to specialise in an underground mine.

Job Description
Working back-to-back and reporting to the Mining Manager, the Senior Mining Engineer/Alternate Mine Manager will be responsible to provide technical input in to the underground mining operation. Specific duties include; 

• Receiving training and acting as the Mine Manager - providing leadership and direction for all blue and white collar staff 
• The preparation of mine designs and schedules in alignment with medium and long term plans 
• Long term scheduling with supporting conceptual designs 
• Assisting with and preparing medium and long term mine plans 
• The preparation of drill and blast designs 
• The development of junior mining engineers (direct reports)

The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this Senior Mining Engineer/Alternate Mine Manager role, you will ideally; 

• Possess tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering 
• Possess a minimum of 5 years experience in underground mining operations 
• Have attained a First Class Mine Managers Certificate
• Have a strong knowledge of Australian mining standards and software packages
