Our client is well-established in the mining and resources sector, with key operational sites across Australia and also the rest of the world. They are a listed company that has attracted worldwide attention for their ambition to expand further into the Asian market, with this being the focus of their current five year plan. Behind the scenes they possess a strong accounting and finance team, and now seek to add a financial accountant to assist with this exciting period of growth and expansion.

Job Description
As a financial accountant reporting into the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Preparation of statutory financial reports 
• Ensuring the general ledgers are reconciled appropriately
• Completing month end processes and general ledger reporting
• Providing assistance with joint venture accounting and reporting
• Assisting the management accountants with the budgeting and forecasting process
• Identifying any opportunities for improvement within current business operations

The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for this role will possess a university degree in accounting, and be in possession of CA/CPA qualifications (or be in the final stages of completing such qualifications). They will have experience with a large ERP system, and be either working for a large accounting firm (mid-tier to Big 4), or within the finance department of a large commercial company.
