Project Controls Department Manager

Our client is a prominent EPC/EPCM consulting firm with global operations.

Reporting to the Operations Manager; responsible for all Project Controls activities associated with the client projects.

Major responsibilities include:

• Perform all duties associated with the daily / monthly tasks required for an efficient operating Project Controls Department.
• Develop and maintain project execution plans and project specific procedures/job bulletins for project controls.
• Participate in Project Controls training initiatives.
• Work with functional management to define resource requirements.
• Recruitment, hiring and development of staff members for the Project Controls department. This includes mentoring and coaching of all staff members.
• Develop and maintain resource planning schedules.
• Manage and maintain Project Controls department budgets.
• Participate in monthly project status reporting meetings.
• Actively contribute to the Project Controls Auditing Process.
• Provide timely annual and/or periodic Performance Assessments for all Project Controls Personnel.
• Align with multiple clients and maintain excellent client relations.
• Implementing office strategy and initiatives within the department.
• Developing and implementing the department strategic plan.
• Budget preparation and monitoring.
• Salary administration.
• Termination of staff employees.
• Growth initiatives.
• Overall quality control and quality assurance.

Job requirements:

• 15 to 20 years relevant experience
• Strong communication and organization skills, understanding of all systems and reporting requirements relevant to Project Controls of large scale projects.
• Leadership and personnel management experience
• Ability to consolidate all 3rd party reporting into a project specific format
• Large project experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of SAP/ Primavera and experience in the mining industry is preferred.
