Mining Engineer

Applications from suitably qualified candidates are invited to fill the position of Mining Engineer, for the Mining Engineering Division. The successful candidate will report to the Manager Mine Engineering.

Minimum Requirements

• Be in possession of a B. Sc / B. Eng (Mining)
• Be in possession of a Pr. Eng certification

Job Specification

• Be proficient in EPS or Microsoft Projects
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office software
• Be proficient in Mine Planning computer software (mine2-4D or similar)
• Be proficient in performing economic evaluations and data analysis
• Be fully conversant in English and any other official language
• Extensive experience in a mine planning and project environment
• Must possess initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work effectively in team-based environment
• Ability to manage projects beginning with an economic evaluation and a scope of work
• Ability to write reports and give verbal presentations
• Capable of implementing initiatives and demonstrate leadership abilities
• Understanding of different mining methods
• Ability to design across a variety of ore bodies
