Environmental Health & Safety

Job Description:

• A large chemical company in Northern Indiana has an immediate opening for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety coordinator.
• This individual will work on site at a client's facility acting as the environmental specialist. They will be profiling waste, managing the handling and disposal of all waste, and completing site inspections and audits. This position is a direct placement.

Major job duties include:

• Complete site inspections and audits.
• Apply RCRA, DOT, EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Waste profiling.
• Manage the storage, transportation, and disposal of waste.

Job requirements and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a science oriented field (Chemistry, Environmental Science, or similar subject matter) OR in a safety oriented field
• 2-3 years of field experience
• Current OSHA 40 Hour (HAZWOPER) or CHMM is a MUST
• Understanding of environmental/safety regulations (RCRA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.)
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Standard work week is M-F 7-4pm. Occasional overtime may be required.
