Senior Environmental Advisor

Are you an experienced Environmental professional looking to join a leading mining operator? look no further, my client is seeking for a Senior Environmental Advisor to join their environmental team base in Western QLD.

Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, you will:

  • Provide high-level expertise and policy advice on environmental legislation issues and how those issues affect the successful construction and operation of a green field site. 
  • Provide assistance to the management team in relation to environmental legislation that will impact on the mine's ability to operate in line with current legislative requirements. 
  • Plan, coordinate, manage, and monitor environmental legislation projects across the lease for the improvement of our environmental performance whilst minimising the impact on construction and operation of the mine. 
  • Liaise with management on the timing, status and progress of all environmental site audits and inspections. 
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of an environmental management system for a green field site and have a demonstrated ability to build, lead and mentor environmental professionals.
To be successful, ideally you will have

  • Tertiary qualification in an environment or science related field and have significant experience in a similar role. 
  • Mining industry experience while not essential will be highly regarded. 
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, be an effective team player and have a good working knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and industry standards with regards to mine site environmental management.
