Our client, a TSX listed mining company, with assets in Latin America is seeking a credible and energetic individual, with proven financial, strategic and operational leadership experience within a publicly traded company. We are looking to appoint a strategic Chief Financial Officer to help take the organization to the next level.
As CFO you will work closely with the CEO and Board, and will play a key role in all aspects of Finance, Investor Relations and Operations. You will be responsible for growing and managing the finance team locally and abroad, developing processes, policies, as well as to strategically develop and execute long-term goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement and manage efficient accounting processes, as well as to strategically grow and manage the finance team abroad in support of the operations
Work with the CEO and Board to forecast challenges and develop strategic plans that will help ensure the continued success of the organization
Oversee all aspects of financial reporting including monthly management reports, annual and bi-annual financial statements, MD&A preparation, compilation of information required for analyst presentations and securities filings
Work with foreign and domestic accountants, ensuring objectives and deadlines are met in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements
Establish and maintain productive relationships with various service providers including auditors, tax professionals, legal counsel, investors and shareholders.
Participate in ad hoc projects and initiatives as and when required
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years’ experience working with a publicly traded company
Proven abilities in financial leadership - strategic and operational
Strong Knowledge of the capital markets
Proven fund raising abilities and contacts
Team orientated approach and excellent people management skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills (both oral and written)
