Events Supervisor

Responsibilities:
  • This role is tasked to plan and manage the conduct of SMI events that are designed to effectively deliver and convey advocacy information and communications messages to all stakeholders to promote public awareness and general social acceptability for the Project.
  • Design events and programs that can effectively advocate SMI’s activities to external stakeholders.
  • Oversee and ensure the efficient operation of the Interactive Mining Information Center (iMIC), exhibits and installations at the MGB, NIGS and other exhibit areas.
  • Manage the organisation and conduct of external events and functions from start to completion including periodic special affairs in the mobile Community Information Resource Center (mCIRC) and iMIC.
  • Supervise communications logistical support and management for events and activities including stage design, outdoor advertising, and similar arrangements.
  • Ensure project visits are properly coordinated and provided with appropriate support on documentation and logistics.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Communication or any media-related course
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in communications work – with high involvement in planning for the implementation of both corporate and development communication programs
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in supervisory role
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications
  • Experience in events and project management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
