We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to fill this challenging position as Claims Contracts Manager in WA. This Perth based contract role will be responsible for overall management and leadership for the resolution of contractual claims raised across all Projects. Responsibilities include ensuring contractual compliance with established client terms and conditions of contract, following established procedures, applying contractual and scheduling knowledge to claims, claim synopsis and report writing, chairing claims meetings and negotiating directly with third party claimants. This Senior Contracts role will also work closely with the Commercial and Project Controls Mangers to help implement and administer contracts and procurement processes and ensure the successful delivery of the project within requisite time frame and budget.
Other duties will include (but will not be limited to):
Sustain and take record of contractor performance
Analysis and management of commercial risk to the project
Providing Contract Management support to the entire project
Management of internal and external stakeholder and project relationships
Mentor junior staff member to help produce the best result for the project
Provide contractual claims management support to all projects
Chair claims meetings with the client and opposite third party claimants
Evaluate and respond to claims
This role will oversee several phases of the project and assist with other future projects and work closely with the team responsible for the cost control duties and procurement procedures.
We require candidates with the following experience:
Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce or engineering
At least 3 years experience in a similar contracts management role on a Mining Project
To be able to demonstrate strong interpretation, communication and organisational skills
Understanding of and ability to follow Company & Client policies and procedures
