WYN Recruitments longest standing EPCM client can provide an industry experienced Environmental Superintendent the opportunity for career recognition and advancement on this iconic Iron Ore mining project.
The Environmental Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing compliance of construction activities with the Iron Ore Major Projects (IOMP) environmental requirements and regulatory obligations. As well as being responsible for implementing the Project EMS, it will be necessary to develop and manage a team of site environmental personnel.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Provide a central resource of information on environmental matters related to Project environmental and legislative requirements\
Provide advice and support to line managers in the practical implementation of the Environmental Management Plan and associated procedures
Consult with Client and Contractor environmental and HSE staff, and other environmental groups at site
Provide input to site activities by contributing to reviews such as constructability reviews, risk workshops and contractor tender and progress meetings
Develop and conduct training and communication programs that address the development and competency of site staff in environmental responsibilities
Provide supervision and guidance to environmental personnel by assigning tasks and setting priorities
Oversee contractors on site conformance with environmental and regulatory requirements and assist contractors to ensure they address environmental responsibilities relating to site entry for people, plant and vehicles
To be considered for this position you must possess the following:
Tertiary degree in Environmental Management/Science/Engineering or related discipline
Relevant operational or project experience (5 - 8 years)
Significant experience in mining infrastructure construction EPCM
Experience with civil earthworks management
