Civil Superintendent

Our client is a leading WA based contractor who has built a reputation over the past 30yrs as the embodiment of professionalism in offering a full suite of civil construction, mining infrastructure and bulk earthworks services across the resources sector.


They client have built an outstanding reputation for being a leading building and construction company, delivering Blue Chip Mining clients successful outcomes and high levels of satisfaction. The close-knit approach to all of their projects has been crucial to their success.
Their success is also indicative of their long term relationships with clients, which has now resulted in exciting new construction packages being awarded. 


With a growing multimillion dollar portfolio and a 5 year + Pipeline of work the need for a Civil Superintendent to coordinate a number projects throughout the Pilbara has become an urgent requirement. In particular candidates who have a track record of delivering in Port Project environments will be viewed highly as the core project includes the concrete and detailed earthworks for the expansion of the port ore handling facilities two of the largest developments in Australia


The scope of works across all projects may include bulk earthworks, rock excavation, and construction of concrete TSF tailing thickeners, connecting tunnel structures, and general road infrastructure.

Reporting directly to site management and functionally to a highly experienced construction manager the successful candidate will show proven experience in coordinating and planning project works with the ability to safely deliver on time, within budget, and meeting the required quality standard of the client and company. You will be responsible for coordinating a large team of supervisors to maintain the construction program whilst liaising regularly with the client's representatives. 


In conjunction with these noted attributes this position will resonate with Superintendents who not only have extensive experience in a similar role, but will be thrive on monitoring, directing and liaising with subcontractors and direct workforce supervisors to ensure program targets are met.


If you are proactive and safety conscious and are able to carry out the following;






Manage and coordinate the day to day site activities and project schedules to ensure quality and construction timeline 
Assist employees with solving complex operational issues 
Lead, manage and coordinate contractors, employees and subcontractors working on projects 
Responsible for maintaining relevant documentation 
Ensure project schedule and objectives are communicated to and understood by team members. 
Ensure decision making responsibilities are within the established procedures, policies and practices and; 
Organise and supervise the placement of materials, plant and equipment required for site works

Applicants welcomed who have:






Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role in the civil construction industry 
A Trade qualification in either civil or earthworks 
Communication including oral, written and interpersonal and the ability to interact with all levels including internal, external stakeholders and clients 
Strong OH&S knowledge, safety risk evaluation skill
