Exploration Geologist

Our client in the mining industry is searching for the services of a Project Manager for its regional exploration programme in the Eastern Namibia.

The successful candidate shall fulfil the following minimum requirements:

• MSc degree in geology
• >15 years exploration geological experience of which at least 10 shall be in the field of project management involving extensive drilling operations
• Knowledge of and experience with software for managing and projecting borehole data
• Proven competence in GIS data management and map production
• SADC Code BE drivers licence
• Knowledge of Namibian stratigraphy and regional geology
• Working knowledge and experience of the Kalahari Copper Belt and/or Central African Copper Belt would be an advantage.
• Duties will include training of junior staff, compliance with the company environmental and occupational health and safety policy and maintaining routine reporting and communication schedules.
• The Project Manager will report directly to the board of directors and guided by a technical management committee.

Remuneration:

• Salary CAD$12-15k per month, depending on skills and experience.
• Accommodation will be provided. T
• he Project Manager will travel between the various field bases regularly, camping out as required. 
• Much time will be spent at the exploration base camps.
