Mining Engineer required for emerging Iron Ore producer in WA at their newest operation.
Due to the size of the operation your role will cover every aspect of Mining Engineering, this will give you an interesting variety of work including pit design and optimization.
You will receive exposure to the full iron ore supply chain through to shipping - this is invaluable experience for the right candidate!
Working closely with the open pit manager, the key purpose of this job is to co-ordinate all aspects of mine design for production operations and to carry out project work and monthly scheduling.
Your day to day activities will involve:
Create and implement schedules, mine plans and designs
Participate in the long term planning process
Carry out pit optimisation and feasibility studies for future developments and projects
Assist with mine cost modelling and budgets
Strong commitment to safe working practices and procedures
Various other projects as required
Resolve technical problems
Compliance with the Mines Safety and Inspections Act and Regulations.
The Person
A Bachelor of engineering (Mining) or Equivalent
Relevant experience
Strong computer literacy - preferably Surpac.
Familiar with Open Pit Risk Assessment
Safety Management and Investigative Processes within a hard rock open pit mining environment.
