Our client is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer for their open cut coal mining operation in the Hunter Valley.
The successful applicant will be responsible for mechanical statutory coverage whilst improving the availability, reliability and cost performance of the company's mining plant.
Other responsibilities of the role include:
Coordinating continual improvement programs to develop and implement changes to maintenance practices to improve equipment health and extend component lives through the use of engineered solutions, current and developing technology, condition monitoring techniques and integrated computerised maintenance systems;
Developing and implementing contamination control standards and practices;
Developing strategies to illustrate the benefits of contamination control;
Carrying out reliability investigations and developing RCM based maintenance strategies;
Assisting site in technical issues with plant and equipment;
Identifying internal and external best practice maintenance performance benchmarks and the underlying drivers for these;
Statutory mechanical engineering, including review and modification to systems and documentation.
The successful applicant will have:
A Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
At least five years post graduate experience in the mining industry;
High level of computer literacy with experience in reporting from data based applications;
A good understanding of maintenance process, benchmarks and maintenance improvement methodologies;
A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and as part of the team.
