Process Engineer Intermediate to Senior

 
Position Summary:
The Senior Process Engineer will be a key member of the Process Engineering team within an EPC environment. You will work with seasoned process engineers on conceptual process design, preliminary engineering and detailed engineering for new and revamped projects in the petrochemical and oil refinery sectors.
 
Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Perform process computer simulations, Heat & Mass Balance calculations, Process Flow Diagrams and P&ID’s.
  • Perform process design calculations including line sizing, hydraulics, equipment sizing, PSV & flare system sizing etc.
  • Work with and review: instrumentation and control data sheets, line designations tables, material selections, equipment list for cost estimation, plot plan process inputs, plant classification.
  • Verify constructability, maintainability & operability and ensure acceptable EH&S standards
  • Communicate equipment and material specifications to mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, civil/structural and piping departments for detailed design from a Process standpoint.
  • Facilitating HAZOPs as required
  • Serving as an information resource to other engineering departments during the conceptual, preliminary and detailed engineering, construction and start-up of the project.
Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years process design experience in Oil Refinery / Petrochemical environment
  • Familiarity with process conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, operations and maintenance
  • Proficient with standard computer tool set (HySys, Pro II, Aspen Plus, Word, Excel)
  • Solid working knowledge of petroleum refining codes, standards and practices including API, ANSE, NFPA, NACE, and ASTM
  • Working knowledge of Environmental Emission Regulations and Permitting Process
  • HAZOP facilitation experience an asset
