Entry Level Environmental Scientist / Geologist

Key Responsibilities
- The position is approximately 80% field work and 20% office work on a variety of projects including industrial, state and federal sites.
- Field activities include soil borings, groundwater monitoring well installations and collecting soil, groundwater, soil gas, air, surface water and sediment samples as well as documenting field activities.
- Office activities include analysis and interpretation of analytical results and the preparation of summary reports, under the supervision of a Senior or Principal Scientist/Geologist or Engineer.
- Will travel to project sites in Michigan and the Great Lakes Area. Approximately 25% travel including some overnight travel.
- Will be routinely lifting equipment and carrying coolers of laboratory samples. It is anticipated that these materials can weigh up to 40 pounds.
Basic/Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Environmental Science, Geology or related technical field.
- 1 to 3 years + environmental experience.
- OSHA 40 hour certification preferred
- Must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills for database work and proficiency in MS Office.
- Flexible to work outside normal business hours as required.
- Willingness to travel to project sites in Michigan and the Great Lakes Area in general. Approximately 25% travel including some overnight travel.
- Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
Physical Demands
- Field activities may require working in unfavorable weather conditions.
- Will lift equipment and carry laboratory samples which requires the ability to lift 40 pounds.
