Customer Service Representative

General Summary

  • This position is responsible for providing professional customer service including applying knowledge of Granite’s products and services to all internal and external customers for our Northern California region to ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Coordinate all customer calls including connecting them to the appropriate Granite location or employee to ensure timely customer service and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish proactive communication with all customers to ensure positive relationships are developed and maintained.
  • Assist Regional Materials and Construction employees with marketing of Granite’s aggregates, asphalt and construction capabilities.
  • Provide coverage for materials sales calls to ensure all customer needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Update bid date log, job lists, and material customer contact lists to ensure accurate and easily accessible records.
  • Assemble and distribute Granite marketing materials as requested by Sales personnel and Estimators.
  • Research online sources for material and construction opportunities that meet Granite’s capabilities to ensure future business opportunities are explored.
  • Maintain vacation and employee availability log to ensure all records are accurate.

Education

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Associates degree preferred

Work Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in related industry and or customer service function

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Construction Industry
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
