HSE Manager

Your future company
 Our client is a leading Australian based exploration and development mining company with copper / cobalt operations in Central Africa.

Your future role
 Reporting to the Project Manager/General Manager, the HSE Manager will ensure that the company operates in a safe, sustainable and efficient manner.
  • Development and Implementation of the site HSE plan
  • Monitoring and assessing effectiveness of the HSE plan
  • Conduct accident and incident investigations
  • Coordinate safety activities, meetings and trainings of local production staff
  • Conduct safety audits and identify risks to implement preventative measures
  • Lead the Environmental department and make sure monitoring is carried out on time 
  • Ensure the site operates in accordance with policy and legislation at all times
  • Monthly follow-up and reporting
You
In order to be considered for this position you will demonstrate:
  • A qualification in Safety Management 
  • Knowledge of Relevant OHS Act and Regulations, Safety Management Systems & Risk Management Principles
  • Previous experience in the mining industry in Africa is a must 
  • A strong safety-first mentality
  • Fluent in French and English
