Randstad is working closely with one of the leading, largest engineering organizations in Canada. The company has an International presence and is the chosen consultant, working with some major Nuclear, Petro-Chemical and Mining & Mineral Engineering industry clients. Due to significant developments with their clients, they are looking for a Senior Instrumentation Designer, to work on a 12 month minimum contract.
Description:
Instrumentation and Controls Designer with strong experience in the Petrochemical industry. Must possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Act as a Sr. Instrumentation Engineer in various project phases, including development of basis of design, preparation front end engineering and detailed design packages.
Responsible for generating layout drawings within the petrochemical industry using AutoCAD.
Working on a variety of project, to deliver design drawings and final construction/detail drawings, for engineering projects.
Ensuring drawing packages are delivered within the project time schedule.
Apply recognized electrical engineering design/drafting principles, accuracy and overall quality.
Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising with members of other disciplines and departments.
Requirements:
The successful applicant shall have, as a minimum, tertiary qualifications in Electrical Drafting or Design.
The person should have demonstrated experience using AutoCAD.
A minimum of 8 years of experience with multi-disciplined drafting; working in the various facets of industrial, mining, chemical/minerals processing or other heavy engineering industries.
A thorough knowledge of appropriate codes and standards.
A minimum of 8 years experience as a user of the 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting system applicable to electrical equipment.
A committed team player able to work on own initiative with the minimum of supervision.
Flexible and versatile.
