The Shawnee, OK facility is [Company]  Center of Excellence for the machining and assembly of hydraulic motors and hydraulic motor components, used to power both agricultural and construction equipment.
  • This position will report directly to the Accounting Supervisor and will have a high amount of growth and development opportunities. Responsibilities for this position will include:
  • Measure and explain all variances, including PPV, scrap, material, and all other variances; Reconcile inventory (perpetual records to General Ledger). Supply explanations for variances and put systems in place to assure these variances are not repeated.
  • Close work orders in a timely manner and analyze variances. Supply explanations for variances and put systems in place to assure these variances are not repeated.
  • Assure accuracy of cost reductions and supply breakdown by project of Material, Labor and Other. Report actual and forecast on cost out web page.
  • Measure Cycle Count accuracy and work closely with production team to drive compliance with Cycle Count metric goals.
  • Lead Annual Physical Inventory. Assure accuracy of results by establishing and maintaining proper inventory controls. Maintain a high degree of inventory accuracy and transactional integrity and provide explanations of write-ups/downs when needed. Analyze and put systems in place to assure the variances are not repeated. Complete necessary documentation, both before and after physical inventory is taken.
  • Understand and maintain the standard cost system. Assure accuracy of standards. Review routers and BOMs for accuracy. Update standard costs.
  • Understand, develop and review overhead rates to assure accuracy of inventory and costing.
  • Continually monitor the cost systems for identification of and recommendation for procedural and processing improvements required for effective operational support.
  • Recommend and implement ways of improving the plant operation and financial performance.
  • Conduct and report results of all special projects assigned by the Controller and/or self initiated on a timely basis along with proper conclusions and recommendations.
  • Documentation of systems, processes, and procedures used in Cost Accounting.
  • Ensure continued plant compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Assist in preparation of annual strategic plan and profit plan.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries/ month end closing process.
  • Prepare rolling forecast monthly.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with an emphasis in Finance/Accounting.
  • One to three years relevant Finance/Accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products, or common PC software and appropriate corporate systems is required.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret accounting theories in order to implement practical judgment
  • Possess communication skills and human relation principles to work with others in the organization.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures and appropriate internal controls.
