Lab QC Technician

Job Description

• Performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid or gaseous materials for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development.
• Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments, such as microscopes, agitators, chemical balance scales
• Protocol testing of production materials
• Tests samples of manufactured product to verify conformity to specifications
• Records tests results in standardized forms and procedures and documents accordingly
• Cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment
• Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas
• Adjusts chemicals or raw material to process solutions or product batches to correct or establish formulation required to meet specifications
• Calibrates laboratory instruments
• Advise the Plant Manager of any operational problems
• Maintain all areas of responsibility safely and within high standards of cleanliness. Administer safety programs for assigned personnel.
• Performs any additional responsibilities as directed by Supervisor
• Complies with all environmental, health, safety & training policies, procedures and requirements

Required Skills
Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required

Experience:

• Three (3) years’ experience in the construction /mining/ concrete industry or quality control field preferred

License:

• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record required
