Mine Geologist | Residential 5&2 or 2&1 FIFO

Our client, a rapidly growing mining and metals company currently seek an experienced Mine Geologist to join their site in the South of WA either on a residential basis (working Monday-Friday), or on a 2&1 FIFO roster.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, the Mine Geologist will play a vital role in the provision and analysis of the grade control drilling, resource delineation and mine mapping data to be used in geological modelling, with the ultimate aim to provide optimal ore feed to the processing plant.

Within this role, your key accountabilities will include:
  • Proactive membership of the grade control and mine geology team to ensure the safe operation of geological and drilling personnel, activities and equipment;
  • Ensuring quality logging, sampling and QAQC data from resource delineation and grade control drilling programs;
  • Geological mapping of the pit to compliment grade control drilling data;
  • Providing accurate grade control models to mine planning;
  • Train and mentor geological technicians, miners and drillers and supervise and control quality of drilling, sampling, mining and blending of ore;
  • Contribute positively towards the team's achievement of budget costs and KPI targets;
  • Ongoing reconciliations to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
  • Australian recognised tertiary qualifications in Geology;
  • At least 2+ years relevant industry experience;
  • Nickel experience will be highly regarded;
  • Working knowledge of Surpac & Datashed (desirable);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment;
  • A current C Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
