Site Engineer with a Mine and Works GCC

A Mine in the Lydenburg / Steelpoort area has a vacancy for a Site Engineer - with a Mines and Works GCC.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• A Government Certificate of Competence for Mines (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
• Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Degree / Higher Diploma
• Proven track record in leadership of engineering aspects of mining projects
• Good interpersonal relationship skills
• Contract management, project management and financial modelling skills
• Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• Have in excess of 5 years experience with a Mines & Works Act legal appointment
• Relevant experience in trackless mining, equipment and management systems
• Good knowledge of winders, construction, shaft production operations
• Project experience will be advantageous

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Providing technical assistance to site personnel
• Risk management of contract
• Quality control of products/equipment supplied to sites
• Setting standards and project planning
• Assisting with tenders and giving expert advice in terms of his/her area of expertise
• Motivating, coaching and developing subordinates
• Presentation of projects to senior management and EXCO
• Effectively apply systems to control the mining plant
• Meeting set targets
