CAD Technician

Position Responsibilities:

• The CAD Technician is responsible for production of routine graphics and figures for reports, marketing and other in-house documents with supervision. Primary responsibilities include producing vicinity maps, site plans, and other two-dimensional layouts and figures working from detailed, to-scale or not-to-scale sketches or plans under supervision of project staff and/or CAD Supervisor/Business Manager. Additional responsibilities include maintaining departmental filing system for figures and illustrations and other projects or duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School education or equivalent. 2 year technical degree or certification of completion from an accredited drafting course preferred. 1+ years drafting experience in a related industry or related formal training and experience. Strong PC and AutoCAD skills as well as efficiency in utilizing computer software to complete assignments. MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus! Knowledge of graphic and reprographic techniques and processes. Ability to solve practical problems and use independent judgment and discretion. Ability to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations. Capable of self-direction and effective time management. Utilize PC software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or AutoCAD system for production of illustrations as appropriate.
