- [Company] is currently seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer. This position can be located in any of [Company] three Florida offices (Tampa, Gainesville, or Jacksonville).
This individual will be responsible for the following:
- Leadership in the Water Resource practice area as it relates to the mining, manufacturing and power sector; including business planning, technical oversight and strategic planning.
- Provide senior leadership/project management to develop environmental strategies, water resource (supply and quantity) evaluations, support permitting and wastewater process and remediation design engineering projects.
- Elevate [Company] practice and visibility as a water resources firm within Florida’s water resources community, and especially among potential Southeastern US clients, through active participation in professional organizations, local/regional water groups, and seminars/conferences.
- Provide consultation and develop strategies to help clients respond to regulatory challenges associated with the Clean Water Act (i.e., water quality standards, 316a and b, TMDLs, Section 404, etc.), Environmental Resource Permitting, NPDES, Water Supply Planning, Water Conservation and Drought Planning, Reservoir and Dam Planning, Water Re-use Planning and Water Use Permitting.
Job Requirements:
- MS in environmental, civil, hydrologic engineering, or similar.
- Must be a licensed professional engineer in the state of Florida.
- 15+ years of experience in water resources consulting or engineering, including client development.
- Recognized technical expert in the field of water resources (surface water hydrology and/or hydraulic design).
- Knowledge of hydrologic modeling, surface and groundwater hydrology, wastewater process, hydraulic design of channels, culverts, ponds, other hydraulic structures, erosion and scour protection, and sediment control.
- Strong background of client development and regulatory agency interaction.
- Strong project management experience.
- Proven track record developing business and bringing in clients. Expectation that self-generated work will begin within 6 months of start.
