- The Anchorage, Alaska office of Golder Associates Inc. is seeking an entry level Geotechnical Engineer.
- Successful candidates will be required to organize field investigations, perform general field sampling (soil, rock, groundwater, permafrost); install and monitor geotechnical instrumentation; collect and evaluate ground temperature data, construction monitoring; data compilation, geotechnical analysis for slopes, foundations, and earthworks; report writing and other related duties to support a multidisciplinary project team.
Job Requirements:
- Candidates should have a BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, MS in Geotechnical Engineering(preferred). Preferred skills include field logging and sampling, laboratory testing, or experience with slope stability, settlement, general civil design experience, construction experience, rock engineering and other geotechnical analyses.
- A willingness to perform a variety of assignments on short notice is valuable. Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and an FE/EIT registration preferred. The candidate shall have excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with a positive attitude and ability to work both independently and within groups.
- Must be able to travel on short notice and work at remote locations within the US and internationally, including construction camps and rural Alaskan communities. In addition, must be able to work outside in various climates, including in arctic and sub-arctic conditions during winter and summer. Will be required to comply with all security, safety, health, and environment requirements at project sites.
