Asphalt Plant Supervisor

[Company] , a leading supplier of quality construction building materials in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Plant Supervisor at our asphalt plant in Bladensburg, Maryland. The position is primarily responsible for coordinating, monitoring and supervising the activities of personnel to ensure daily production goals are met.

• Hires, trains, develops and coaches personnel
• Provides continuous, constructive feedback to direct reports
• Facilitates meetings to assure team members are briefed on company and plant goals and objectives, as well as safety and environmental requirements.
• Performs resource planning for forecasted activities.
• Works with various support functions to resolve production problems and assists in troubleshooting.
• Provides feedback to Maintenance department on equipment operation and production effectiveness.
• Completes status reports pertaining to production Key Performance Indicators
• Monitors department efficiency and throughput, material use, quality, inventory or recommends action to improve
• Participates in budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Business or other related discipline or relevant experience.
• Minimum of six years of production-related work experience
• Related supervisory or group leader experience preferred
• Understanding of relevant DOT & OSHA regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with operation of loaders, drills, dredges crushers, screeners, feeders, washing systems and conveyors.
