WYN Recruitment is in the unique position to offer an experienced Area Construction Manager the chance of working overseas on a multi-billion dollar Iron Ore project in Africa. Our Client is looking for a Construction Manager with Materials Handling experience to oversee the development of a significant, high-grade hematite Iron Ore body.
Working directly for our globally recognized Client, the successful candidate will demonstrate in depth working knowledge of large Iron Ore project design and construction within an EPCM or Client organization. This opportunity offers excellent scope for career development and internal progression within our Clients extensive international project portfolio.
Duties and responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
Assisting the delivery of projects to the approved cost, schedule and other relevant performance criteria
Managing, Coordinating and controlling the construction works on the specific package of work
Working closely with the Project Manager to ensure the client project timetable is met
The completion of all relevant documentation for the execution of construction work
Assisting with the control of project costs, budgets and schedules
Building strong client relationships
Promoting the companys commitment to safety and ensuring the zero harm policies are strictly adhered to
The ore body being developed is one of the largest in the region and constitutes a major part of our Clients African project portfolio. The planned open-cut mine site will yield somewhere in the region of 85 MTPA within five years, with significantly larger yield predicted over the next decade. As an ideal candidate you will possess:
Ability to liaise with peers, EPCM representatives and on site-senior management
Experience of working as a Construction Manager within Materials Handling environment
Ability to think analytically and logically
Effective management Style; the ability to lead and coordinate others
Ability to assess project risks and understand associated contingencies
Minimum 8-10 years project experience with EPCM/Owners Team
Ability to undertake design and engineering of concepts
Strong organizational skills
