We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Ecologist to join one of the largest multidisciplinary consultancies in Europe. This award winning company are looking for an experienced Principal Consultant to help manage a team of Ecologists based in the West Midlands.
Salary - Ł37,000 to Ł54,000 + Attractive Benefits Package (Car allowance, etc).
Essential Qualifications for this position include:
- Demonstrable consultancy background (8 years +)
- Experience of Phase 1 habitat survey and protected species survey techniques (ideally with an area of specialism)
- Knowledge of implementing ecological mitigation skills
- Strong team leadership and business development qualities
- Full UK driving license
- Interest in wider sustainability and environmental issues
Desireable traits:
- Atleast one protected species license
Suitable applicants will be employed to manage part of a 40 strong UK Ecology team, in addition to assisting in business development and the delivery of complex projects. It will be of particular interest for candidates to hold strong project and consultancy experience in the Infrastructure sector (rail, roads, utilities, etc). You will also be required to undertake field surveys, ecological impact assessments and deliver ecological mitigation works, as well as preparing tenders, environmental and EcIA statements and managing budgets for ecological projects within the West Midlands.
Ideal candidates will be well driven, with strong technical knowledge and a proven ability to develop and communicate business and complex issues.
