We are currently looking for experienced Electrical Linesman to work for a rapidly growing business in QLD. Offering both career progression and a great salary, this is perfect for anyone looking for the next step in their career.
The salary is governed by the EBA however good Linesmen can earn above $100k/year including overtime and allowances. There is plenty of opportunity for overtime.
Standard duties of the position include:
- Constructing, maintaining and repairing overhead distribution lines.
- Performing emergency repairs on overhead distribution lines
- Undertaking risk assessments
- Ensuring that conductors are correctly connected betweens the mains and customers properties.
- In carrying out your work, you can expect:
- Exposure up to 33Kv in an overhead lines environment
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals and noise
- The need to scale towers and poles, and perform work at heights, beside roadways and in hot conditions
- To work 'live' within statutory guidelines
- The need to participate in an after hours standby roster
Qualifications:
- Formal trade qualifications are an advantage;
- Certificate of Competency as an Overhead Linesperson and/or Electrical Fitter Mechanic;
- Esi 3 distribution qualifications
- Current Driver Licence;
- EWP;
- Crane Operator or GP Operator Ticket (desirable);
- Fork Truck Operator Licence (desirable)
- You will need a high level of safety awareness, the ability to promote a safe work environment and the initiative to identify and eliminate hazards and potentially dangerous situations
