THE POSITION
The Mechanical Engineering Technologist will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for providing technical support for the design of components and systems related to industrial projects of substantial variety and complexity.
 
The Mechanical Engineering Technologist will:
  • be part of the Engineering Team working on existing and new projects and attend design team meetings
  • Liaise with other members of the Design and Manufacturing Teams in order to collaboratively identify and develop hydraulic components and systems such as Hydraulic Cylinders, Hydraulic Power Units (HPU), Schematics and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • work with Engineers/Project Leaders to create and update mechanical drawings usingSolidWorks,     AutoCAD and MathCad
  • produce other required documents using Excel and Word 
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
THE PERSON
  • Certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in mechanical or hydraulic systems engineering
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and MathCad
  • Experience with machine design would be an asset
  • Capable of working independently and as a team member in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and team working skills
  • Well-organized and motivated.
