Responsibilities

• Prepares account reconciliations, including bank accounts, in accordance with US GAAP and SPX corporate and divisional policies and procedures
• Maintains local chart of accounts (COA)
• Maintains fixed asset register and prepares depreciation calculation
• Supports preparation of tax reporting
• Prepares and posts journal entries
• Maintains closing checklist
• Ensures required documentation exists to support all journal entries, calculations and account reconciliations
• Acquires a general knowledge of the businesses served
• Prepares audit schedules
• Performs control testing in accordance with internal policies and procedures
• Strictly complies with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

Qualifications

• US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Transactional Accounting
• Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Availability to travel < 10%

Required Education / Experience

• Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Accounting
• SAP experience
• 1-3 years of experience in General Ledger Accounting

Preferred Education / Experience

• CPA
• Operational Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

Job Summary

• The Americas Shared Service Center General Accountant is responsible for performing daily general ledger activities and monthly closing procedures including standard calculations, account reconciliations and journal entries.  In addition this individual will spend >30% of time in direct communications with internal business unit customers.

• SPX's Flow Technology segment designs, manufactures and markets engineered solutions and products used to process, blend, meter and transport fluids in addition to air and gas filtration and dehydration. Recognized for its leading brands and turnkey systems capability, the Flow Technology segment has global operations which serve the Food & Beverage, Power & Energy and Industrial markets.
