Our client, an Australian ASX listed company, is a progressive and well established producer of base and precious metals. The company has a portfolio of mining and exploration assets in South Australia and New South Wales and are well positioned financially. They are focussed on an aggressive growth plan for their existing operations as well as identifying further key project acquisitions and are now looking to appoint a suitably qualified Mining Engineer.
Reporting to the Mine Superintendent you will be responsible for mine planning, design and scheduling, monitoring mining operations and providing support in resolving daily mining operational issues. Other duties will include communication with technical and production personnel, meeting production targets, technical risk assessment and safe work practices and ensuring compliance with OH&S standards.
Ideally, candidates will have at least 3 years relevant experience in open cut operations and have tertiary qualifications in mine engineering or equivalent and hold the NSW Mine Production Manager’s certificate of competence. You should be highly motivated with excellent work and safety habits and have the ability, commitment and enthusiasm to take up this challenging role. This is a ‘hands on’ position and you should be able to work unsupervised.
This will provide the successful candidate with an excellent career opportunity to establish themselves with a strong and expanding company. The role offers the option of being either residentially based or FIFO from Sydney, on a family friendly roster of 12 days on / 9 days off. The roster is structured so that all staff will only be site based for one weekend per month.
