Mechanical Engineer – Underground

Our Client is one of the largest Coal Miners in the world, located in Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley,  is looking for a self motivated and energetic mechanical engineer, with strong analytical skills to provide technical support, advice and solutions for their mechanical team.
 
The purpose of this role is to manage mechanical engineering task to deliver safe, efficient, maintained equipment through quality planning and maintenance management.  This position will be reporting to the Engineering Superintendent,
 
Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing technical specifications, drawing and scope-of-work for capital equipment purchase and major equipment refurbishment,
• Maintenance system analysis,
• Planning and modelling for reliability, Including root cause analysis,
• Long term planning and asset management,
• Playing an active role in the installation, commissioning and performance testing on various projects,
• Ensuring all engineering projects comply with statutory and internal safety standards
• Effectively plan and co-ordinate the role of sub contractors

Essentials:

• Mechanical Engineering qualifications (Australian recognised)
• 2 yrs + practical experience in maintenance and operation of Australian underground mining (coal preferred)
• Experience in managing underground mining fleet, hydraulic installations and bulk conveyor systems highly regarded,
• Exposure to SAP (or strong usage of CMMS system)
• Strong Safety focus
