My Client is a leading General Contractor with offices throughout Canada and an annual turnover of over $4 billion. Through the acquisition of a mining operation in Northern Alberta they are now looking for a Vice President to run this business unit from top to bottom with full profit and loss accountability.
The scope of works for this business unit will be open pit mining, major earthworks, material haulage, heavy infrastructure associated with mining such as roads, haulage, roads, bridges, waste water and sewage water treatment plants , process and heavy industrial plants. Contracts will be on a fixed price/lump sum or cost reimbursable with contracts up to the value of $400 million or framework contracts.
The role will be reporting into the Senior Vice President for Western Canada.
The role will be based out of FT McMurray.
My client is looking for a candidate who has run open pit mining business unit with a proven background in full profit and loss accountability for the operations. The candidate will have experience in business development, budget reporting and setting, procurement of work, and managing in excess of 300 employees.
The Candidate will be responsible for the business units operations, profit and loss of the unit, business development and expansion of the division, and employee engagement. The candidate will oversee all the operations and contracts in the field and ensure the sustainability of the fleet.
