Horizon Oil Sands
Horizon Oil Sands is an exciting part of our growth.  Full production capacity for Phase 1 is 110,000 bbl/d of fully upgraded, light, sweet synthetic crude oil.  We will see incremental production gains throughout the completion of future expansion and debottlenecking, with targeted full facility capacity of approximately 250,000 bbl/d.  Further phases of expansion will bring the ultimate capacity to 500,000 bbl/d.

This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
• Relocation to Calgary or Fort McMurray

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our Horizon Oil Sands operation is expanding with project spending for 2012 forecasted at approximately $1.55 billion with future projected spending of approximately $2 - 2.5 billion each year for the next several years.

The Materials Assistant is responsible for maintaining all files and records and preparation of records of goods shipped. The role will also assist with organizational duties within the office.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
• Receive and log incoming materials or prepare materials for shipment by providing administrative support for these functions
• Coordinate shipments with external couriers and transport carriers
• Verify estimated freight charges for each shipment
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipment accuracy against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders and other records
• Prepare all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure correct labeling of products and shipping manifests are included in all outgoing shipments
• Isolate items received damaged and contact transport carrier to commence freight damage claims as required
• Perform data entry on all incoming and outgoing shipments. Record all transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and suppliers
• Provide timely response to inquiries regarding the status of shipments, carrier details, ETAs (estimated time of arrivals), etc

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with Grade 12 or GED
• Familiarity with and understanding of the Microsoft office suite
