Mine Projects and Long Term Planning Manager

Contract FIFO position in the mining sector in a safe area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Single status position (not favourable for wives and families to reside there) with a six day working week. Reports to the Mine Technical Services Manager

PLEASE NOTE: Regrettably, we are unable to consider candidates who do not have prior MINING industry experience. (This is a crucial requirement and not negotiable

Essential Items Required
  • A recognized Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mining
  • 10 years + experience in mining industry
  • Able to direct and supervise the Mine Projects and Long Term Planning Department in a best cost effective manner
  • Ability to prepare sound mining projects and schedules for all current and future areas of operations based on a number of logical development options and for underground and open cast mining
  • Project, planning budgeting and financial skills
  • Knowledge of Mine Safety requirements
  • Provide a mentorship role to the national staff
  • English fluency, and French an advantage
  • Physically fit to handle long hours and demanding work schedule
  • Computer Literacy:  MS Office, MS Project, design and modeling software
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Full Clean Driving Licence

Remuneration And Benefits
  • Annual Salary up to US$170,000 pa (tax free plus benefits), depending on skills and experience 
  • Benefits: Up to 20% Bonus; Travel allowance (tax free); Accommodation and meals provided; 84 days annual leave (total days off site); Medical; Group Benefits Scheme, etc
