Senior Process Control Engineer

Reporting to the Superintendent Process Control, the Process Control Engineer will be responsible for the fixed plant equipment and control systems of the Port Operations. You will be the subject matter expert for the operations plant reliability and integrity and be responsible for the process and business improvements.

Your duties and responsibilities include:

• Ensuring Port equipment is operating to supplier specifications.
• Continual monitoring of plant equipment.
• Minimising delays through rapid response to uncontrolled events.
• Manage projects effectively.
• Recommend and implement solutions to existing or reoccurring issues.
• Delivering of business improvement initiatives.
• Ensuring continual reviews of existing infrastructure and performance.
• Exploring new ways and ideas to increase performance.
• Ensuring Engineering practices are followed at all times.
• Carry out PLC and SCADA projects.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will require:

• Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation /  Process Control Engineering. 
• Prior experience in Mining and/or Bulk Material Handling.
• Significant knowledge of fixed plant control systems and Balance Machines.
• PLC programming (DFB,UDFB,FB,ST and SFC) Proficy Machine Edition, Concept.
• Communications (Devicenet, Profibus, Ethernet, Modbus).
• Knowledge of VSD's.
• SCADA (GE-IP Proficy CIMPLICITY).
• Experience with Electrical Schematics and P&ID Drawings.
• SQL Server 2005/08, VB, C, C++, VSS, Windows 2003/08 Server.
