The Mechanical Designer will provide a high level technical support and supervision in relation to design and engineering services within this large project portfolio. You will be required to live and promote the project covenants and objectives while meeting all position objectives and KPIs. A core focus of the position will be on the materials handling aspects of the projects such as Shiploaders, Conveyors and Chutes.

Some of the duties will also be (but will not be limited to):
Contribute to mechanical design reviews.
Ensure all mechanical design drawings for engineering project work comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and practices.
Liaise with engineers to establish design criteria and ensuring project goals are met.
Ensure mechanical design drawings for engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.
Prepare preliminary and detailed designs drawings for engineering projects and ensure project work complies with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works.
Provide high level technical support for all discipline design projects work as required.
Prepare schedules and lead discipline designers through detailed design and consult with engineers into the construction phase.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive materials handling experience on large mining projects. As an ideal candidate you will possess:
Candidates must have experience in 3D software packages
Microstation certification or skill
3+ years experience in design for engineering of mining projects
