Environmental Compliance/Due Diligence Project Manager

[Company] is seeking an Environmental Compliance/Due Diligence Project Manager to join our growing Performance & Assurance practice team in Milwaukee, WI.  In this role, you will provide project management and technical assistance on environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance projects, EHS management systems, safety oversight, industrial hygiene monitoring, and compliance assurance programs for clients locally, nationally, and internationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance on EHS-related compliance projects, EHS management system development and implementation, safety oversight, industrial hygiene monitoring, and EHS auditing.
  • Develop EHS procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
  • Assess regulatory compliance across various safety programs and environmental media.
  • Manage and perform complex due diligence projects involving multi-site portfolios and multi-person project teams locally, nationally, and globally.
  • Manage due diligence assessments consistent with ASTM Phase I standards and other global protocols, and including broad-based compliance.
  • Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Design and implement EHS management systems and programs for clients.
  • Conduct training, field coaching, and assessment for safety performance improvement projects.
  • Provide on-site EHS compliance support at client facilities.
  • Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Support [Company] Partners-in-Charge and other Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.
  • Effectively steward and build client relationships leading to repeat business.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other [Company] employees.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering, safety, environmental science, or related discipline.
  • 6 to 12 years’ experience in environmental consulting, EHS compliance and experience working on environmental due diligence projects, preferably in process plants and for construction projects. Oil & gas, manufacturing or chemical sector experience desired.
  • Solid, demonstrable knowledge of ASTM Phase I standards, understanding of core business and legal concepts of business transactions, and continued interest in working on transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry and/or Construction standards.
  • Strong knowledge of EPA regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide detailed regulatory interpretation of federal and state OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, MS Office computer (specifically Excel), and analytical skills; experienced in writing comprehensive technical reports.
  • Experience maintaining corporate management standards (either as a consultant or an internal compliance officer).  Expertise in EHS management systems (ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001) a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
