Environmental Decontamination/Demolition Manager

[Company] is seeking a motivated and proactive Environmental Decontamination/Demolition Manager to join our top-ranked environmental consulting firm in Denver, CO.  As part of a growing and diverse local office, you will work on complex contaminated site management and environmental remediation projects with an emphasis on Decommissioning, Decontamination & Demolition (DD&D) services at oil & gas, industrial manufacturing, and Superfund sites across the Western U.S.   This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to support ERM’s DD&D growth initiative as you build a rewarding career with a global environmental leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with [Company] project managers to plan and execute DD&D and other remedial construction projects, including design and constructability reviews, preparation of opinions of probable cost, pre-construction conferences, supervision and direct field staff management, CQA/CQC oversight, client and progress meetings, subcontractor management, work progress and schedule management, on-site coordination, health and safety audits, and problem exposure, risk reduction and resolution meetings.
  • Review contractor submittals, including but not limited to, Requests for Information, contract clarifications, contract-required submittals, change order requests, and other documents related to compliance with project specifications.
  • Provide construction management, construction quality assurance, and on-site health and safety support on medium-to-large scale construction projects involving DD&D, site development/restoration, earthwork operations, remedial systems, land disposal facilities, industrial water and wastewater treatment systems, air treatment systems, and related environmental projects.
  • Coordinate the resolution of issues arising from the inspection process or from contract administration.
  • Plan and schedule on-site [Company] staff; evaluate subcontractor performance and schedules; and negotiate and resolve change order requests.
  • Provide liaison between the field activities and the [Company] Project Manager, assume responsibility for completion of projects in the field in conformance with project plans and specifications, and assure that clarifications and interpretations required for proper execution of the contract are implemented.
  • Interface with [Company] Project Managers to identify and track upcoming construction management requirements, meet with clients to identify upcoming work, and assist in business development activities, including preparation of proposals, interviews, and project contracting. 
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with [Company] employees, clients, and subcontractors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field required.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in Construction Management or DD&D project work; preferably at a supervisory level (Superintendent or Project Manager).
  • Ability to provide excellent project delivery and client service, quality on project deliverables, excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including implementing strict Health and Safety protocols.
  • Working knowledge of industrial hygiene and safety (for worker protection), asbestos abatement, RCRA waste management, and waste manifesting requirements.
  • Completed training and certifications for HAZWOPER Supervisor, DOT basic Hazmat awareness, OSHA 30-hour construction, and First Aid/CPR training.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Willing to travel and temporarily relocate to field assignments throughout the United States.
