With multiple mining operations in production across Australia, this company is quickly becoming a leading producer in the market due to its high focus on company growth and staff development. Due to recent growth and expansion, the company is looking for a Mining Engineer to specialise in drill & blast activity for its open pit mine.

Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the Open pit Mining Engineer will be responsible for all drill & blast engineering works and related activities. Specific duties include;

• Drill & blast design
• Short term planning and scheduling
• Management of contractors

The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this Open Pit Mining Engineer role, you will ideally posses;

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar
• At least 5 years experience in open cut mining, preferably with at least 2 years in drill & blast
• Experience with blast design software and standard software packages
• A Quarry Managers Certificate or be progressing to achieving one
