Operations Manager (Drilling Company)
The Operations Manager provides direction and technical support to Managers, Field Superintendents and Administration for the division.
The position is responsible for providing assistance with procedures, policies and regulations.
The Operations Manager monitors and ensures high performance standards for all groups within the division.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the overall adherence to government regulation – company policy / procedure thereby protecting the health and safety of all employees;
- Managing the overall day-to-day operations of the business to ensure that schedule, scope, and performance objectives are met or exceeded;
- Establishing and managing performance targets for all team members that compliment the departmental and company service objectives;
- Maintaining customer relationships and handle customer concerns in a timely and professional manner;
- Hiring, developing and assigning managers and technical resources to support the ongoing growth of our clients;
- Reviewing operations on a timely basis to identify scope, schedule and cost issues that need to be addressed;
- Developing and managing mitigation plans to resolve identified issues;
- Managing operating expenses by controlling costs in all areas including salaries & wages, employee performance and productivity, and communications;
- Assisting in preparing annual capital and operating budgets;
- Assisting the sales process by providing sales with support for cost estimates and technical knowledge; and,
- Developing all opportunities for integration of PCPSL services.
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:
- 5 years of Completion and Production field experience, including 2 years in a management capacity, preferably obtaining experience with drill rigs and other mining equipment;
- Completion and Production equipment sales background would also be considered an asset;
- Must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills and able to lead by example;
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills;
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills;
- Proven systematic and organized approach to multi-tasking;
- Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills;
- Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail;
- Ability to adapt to and learn fast new software;
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines; and,
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
