Concrete Dispatch Supervisor

Position Summary:

• Responsible for transportation needs and the sales support for the Northern Colorado concrete business. Ensure effective inside sales, dispatch, order taking and sales administration are performed. Provide direct and/or indirect supervision over the dispatchers and customer service reps to ensure related processes and systems are executed in a manner consistent with best practices. Make certain that relationships and processes around delivery and transportation are effectively utilized and maintained; balancing lowest cost against service and availability. Ensure all aspects of job are executed in a safe manner. Oversee duties of all concrete dispatch personnel for the assigned market to ensure delivery efficiencies and customer satisfaction are within [Company] standards. Interface with sales to coordinate staff and ensure a proactive approach is taken to ensure timely deliveries. Provide the highest levels of customer service while optimizing available resources. Oversee all scheduling processes, which would include CSR and dispatch personnel, drivers, trucks, materials, and plant capacities. Know and adhere to all DOT regulations. Maintain and improve order entry and dispatch systems and procedures to provide on-time delivery and effective communication with customers and internal personnel. Generate accurate invoices through effective utilization of the quotation/billing system and various sales tools (i.e. zone maps, pricing processes) and coordinating with other sales and customer service personnel. Identify critical tasks, process gaps and training needs for the sales & customer service related systems. Ensure sales related information is stored in an effective manner.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or business or equivalent experience required
• 3- 5 years of related experience in the ready mix concrete industry and strong understanding of concrete, admixtures, aggregates and extra product sales
• Experienced and proficient at using Command dispatch software and knowledge of industry GPS truck tracking systems and expertise in map book utilization
• Must have superior computer skills with knowledge of current operating systems & office suites
• Motivated, thorough and detail oriented with ability to multi-task
• Ability to work extended hours and handle pressure and stress while maintaining composure
• Excellent organizational, planning, communication and people management skills, with demonstrated ethics and ability to direct, mentor, develop and supervise customer service employees
