Engineer Quality

Position Description

• This opening is with[Company] , a division of [Company] Power and Propulsion – a world leader in the investment casting of superalloys, aluminum and titanium primarily for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine markets and a leading supplier of forgings for the aerospace, automotive, commercial transportation, and other industrial markets.
• This position will resolve manufacturing & shipment issues relative to customer specifications. Support the administration of quality manuals, continuous improvement initiatives & interaction with business center personnel on quality initiatives. Root cause analysis & corrective/preventative action determined as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with customers on specifications, layouts, first article inspection and approvals
• Work closely with manufacturing, engineering and other departments
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of the quality manual by taking on continuous improvement through elimination of customer returns and complaints, scrap reduction, etc.
• Act as an account manager handling customer accounts, issues and complaints

Skills:

• Must have good PC skills, written & verbal communications skills
• Must work well in a team environment & commit to continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of applicable experience in a manufacturing environment
• 3-5 years’ experience with quality systems & statistical analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of ISO/AS9100 quality systems and Nadcap special processes.
• ASQ CQA and/or CQE highly desirable
• Ability to read and interpret blueprint specifications
• Experience in Synchronous manufacturing, Kaizen
• Demonstrated proficiency in Root Cause & Corrective Action analysis and auditing methodology
