Assistant Project Manager- Land Use Planner
Job Responsibilities:
- [Company] , a leading energy, natural resources and environmental planning firm is seeking a staff-level planner to support the preparation of a wide range of environmental documents and environmental regulatory permit applications. The individual will work within an environmental group supporting project and task managers. The individual will be responsible to prepare written documents that will be included in environmental impact studies, regulatory permit applications, land use plans, or other similar studies that have defined scopes of work, budgets, and schedules unique to each project.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing existing environmental conditions descriptions
- Producing sections of a NEPA/CEQA documents
- Coordinating with other technical specialists (biologists, archaeologists, engineers, etc.)
- Updating progress reports and schedules
- Contributing to business development efforts, proposals, and cost estimate preparation
- Must have ability to work on or manage multiple assignments; assignments will likely include research and writing of technical documents/reports, and may range from the research and writing of a technical section or study/report, to editing and assistance with document copying and delivery
- Good working knowledge of software applications, including MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and Power Point
- Good organizational management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required
Job Requirements:
- BS degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Environmental Sciences and/or related fields
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public or private sector
- Experience in preparation and management of feasibility-level planning documents, complex CEQA/NEPA documents, and with California local government land use planning and entitlement processes is required
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills are required
- Must be experienced in preparing and conducting presentations before the general public, clients and agency decision makers
- Capable of independent research and writing in environmental disciplines
- Experience in developing public participation/outreach programs is a plus
