Fixed Plant Fitter

Part of a diversified global group, the team at Consolidated Minerals are currently focusing on the expansion of our Pilbara Manganese and Chromite mining operations through exploration and development of our large regional land holding.
With a world renowned high grade deposit of Manganese which is essential to steel production, and an enviable track record of being one of the world's leading suppliers, we are well placed in the market and look forward to continued growth.
We currently have a vacancy for a Fixed Plant Fitter to join our Coobina Chromite operations (located around 80km South-East of Newman), and play an important role in our Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Maintain fixed plant and equipment including crushers, heavy media drums etc
  • Maintain Warman pumps
  • Work in conjunction with the Production Department
  • Assist Boilermakers as and when required
  • Ensure and promote safe working practices
  • General housekeeping
  • Liaise with other Maintenance personnel to complete set goals
 Requirements to be successful in this role are:
  • To be a trade qualified Mechanical Fitter
  • Have 2 years minimum experience in fixed plant maintenance
  • Safe work ethics and attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organisation and communication skills
  • Outgoing with a common sense approach to problem solving
  • Willingness to improve and add knowledge
  • Physically fit
  • Team player
  • Current C class manual drivers licence
Desirable but not essential:
  • Confined Space ticket
  • Working at heights ticket
  • Telescopic handler ticket
  • CN crane ticket or C6
  • Poly welding experience
  • Rigging & slinging tickets
