This leading international mining company is located approximately 40 kilometres north of Emerald, in Queensland.  Safety is paramount, and continued growth and development of their staff is high on their priority.  The company will offer a competitive remuneration package supported with a range of benefits for all staff.  You will be relocating to the Bowen Basin and the company will assist you with relocation as well as some initial housing assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
 
You will be reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor and will be required to provide survey reports to operations for continuous miners.   You will be in charge of two main groups maintaining communication with the contract surveyors and the development coordinators on a daily basis.
 
In addition to your technical knowledge your role will demand having a tactical and diplomatic mind, the ability to problem solve and work autonomously with the confidence to push forward to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget.
 
Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in surveying of some kind
  • Minimum of 12 months mining experience and working in coal
  • Knowledge of Serpac, Auto CAD, or relevant software packages
  • Use of GPS and/or other related surveying tools
  • Effective communication, both written and high level of people skills
  • Registered Mine Surveyor is not essential, but certainly advantageous - someone wishing to obtain this qualification would be highly regarded
