SIS Control Systems Engineer
Description and Desired Qualifications
- Helping our clients design the best ways to move the world's energy resources. Each day our SIS Control Systems Engineer position will be an important part of a team working together to deliver world class refinery safety engineering solutions. As a SIS Control Systems Engineer, you will have an in-depth understanding of all phases of the SIS life cycle, including applicable ISA/IEC standards.
- You should be a self-motivated degreed engineer with 12 or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry, petroleum refineries or other heavy industry processing facilities such as power plants, chemical plants or petrochemical plants.
Our SIS Control Systems Engineers:
- Have in-depth knowledge and understanding of all phases of the SIS life cycle, including applicable ISA/IEC standards
- Coordinate SIS requirements with end users and clients
- Have responsibilities for review and development of P&ID's and control strategies
- Support PHA/LOPA analysis
- Support Process Engineers during SIF identification and SIL determination
- Develop safety requirements specifications (SRS)
- Select, design and specify SIS hardware and software to meet requirements
- Integrate field instruments and control systems with DCS, PLC and SIS
- Perform SIL verification calculations and prepare documentation
- Develop SIS testing, checking and validation procedures
- Support construction and SAT activities
Basic Qualifications
- BSEE, BS Chemical degree, or related engineering degree from accredited college/university is required
- Minimum 12 or more years recent work experience in oil and gas refineries or heavy industrial process facilities (power plant, chemical plant, petrochemical plant) is required
- Several years of experience in review and development of P&ID's
- Experience in developing safety requirements specifications
- Selection and design of SIS hardware and software to meet requirements
- Understanding/knowledge of DCS, PLC control systems
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 or more recent years of experience in oil and gas refineries or heavy industrial process facilities
- Current CFSE or TUV is highly desirable - or ability to attain within 12 months of hire
